Final Project: Wind Turbine
For our 4th term project Mr. Ramos equipped us with the task of making the most efficient 4ft tall windmill we could make. As partners, Jacob Hultman and I, began with drawing our blueprint. The blueprint called for a two tower multi-turbine design. We then proceeded to rip 4ft long 1/4" pieces of wood for our supports. We also cut out 2 larger and smaller octagons for the base and top of the two towers. From there we began to staple the strips off wood to each side of the base and top and then applied liquid nail for a stronger seal. After both basic towers were built we then built our molds for our cement bases. From there Jacob found a way to connect both towers by screwing a a shaped piece of wood into both tops of the towers. From there we placed each base of the towers in the concrete molds and filled them with quick-crete and let them form. To finish off our project we fitted our two towers with three large motors, respective propellers and the wiring that was necessary.
