Portrait Emulation
Portrait emulation was a hard topic to topple. For my take on the subject i chose to emulate a picture of a home-state legend, "The Brockton Blockbuster", Rocky Marciano. Unfortunately I was unable to recover the identity of the photographer that capture this picture of Marciano. In knowing the time frame of the photo I can only tell 1 or 2 things about the photographer. Marciano was in his prime in the 40's so the photographer most likely living in the same era. Also the picture looks like it would come from a sports magazine so that might point towards our photographer working for one of them during his time. When i found this photographer's picture of "The Rock" i decide i wanted to emulate it. I had many problems trying to achieve emulation and my finished product could be far more perfect. Problems I faced mostly was creating a backdrop similar to the original, which I could not replicate. The dark background and lighting on the face of the subject was hard to replicate while the reflection on the table was easily replicated by using a glass pane. All in all i would have needed more hands tom complete a more similar photograph but am happy with what I have accomplished.
